LS Power Grid and Great Basin Transmission will host an open house event in Ely on Tuesday, March 31, from 5-7 p.m.
All are welcome to attend and learn more about Southwest Intertie Project-North (SWIP-North). Set to provide a bi-directional transmission pathway for delivering energy between the Desert Southwest and the Pacific Northwest to meet changing market needs and to increase reliability.
SWIP-North is the final link of a transmission corridor extending between Idaho and southern Nevada that will increase reliability and reduce congestion in the western United States, and enable the bi-directional flow of more than 2,000 megawatts of electricity.
