Nevada Northern Railway

Nevada Northern Railway

Activity description

It is the last of its kind, the sole survivor of a grand era in the Silver State.  Now a National Historic Landmark, the Nevada Northern Railway Museum takes you back to a time when the iron horse ruled the rails.

It is America’s best-preserved standard-gauge short line and a complete rail facility.

Founded in 1905, the Nevada Northern Railway Museum preserves, interprets, and operates one of America’s best-preserved standard-gauge short line railroads. Operated by the Nevada Northern Railway Foundation, a nonprofit organization, our mission is to keep Nevada’s railroading history alive so visitors can experience and understand its national significance.

The Foundation’s dedicated staff and volunteers combine experience in preservation, museum management, and community service. We offer steam and diesel train rides, guided tours, private charters, special event trains, educational programs, and a gift shop, providing an authentic living-history experience for visitors from around the world.
