Activity description
The White Pine High School & Jr. High School Rodeo Club is a non-profit youth organization creating deeply meaningful experiences in the lives of students. By combining purposeful community service with incredible athleticism, the White Pine Rodeo Club create opportunity to build skills, self confidence, and teamwork between youth between 5th grade to High School graduation.
As a part of the Nevada State Rodeo Association, the Club members compete in a series of rodeo events throughout the year including: HS Division Events
-Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying, Pole Bending, Rifle Shooting, Trap Shooting, Cutting, Team Roping, Bareback Riding, Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie Down Roping, Steer Wrestling, Reining.
JH Division Events are -Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying, Pole Bending, Rifle Shooting, Chute Dogging, Team Roping, Bareback Riding, Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie Down Roping, Ribbon Roping.
Every Year - White Pine County is Host to a state-wide audience, bringing in more than 200 comtestants and their families. Sponsors and advertisors are able to reach well over 500 people with this one event and see their charitable contributions used additionally for scholarships for local youth.
This September 5-7, 2025 White Pine HS/JHS will spend close to $60,000 to host this thrilling contest, bringing big business to Ely and White Pine County. As well as prizes for contstants, the WP HS/JRHS Rodeo is responsible for liability insurance, rodeo stock contractors, Emergency Medical Services, and logistical expenses. Every contributing organization is putting valueable investment back into the community.
